Fletcher - 2024 - 09

What can I say about FLETCHER? She sounds great live. Both her and her entire band put on a fun, energetic show. She is fast becoming an icon.

Due to technical difficulties, FLETCHER's sold out Detroit show started about 30 minutes late. With multiple stage hands scrambling to remove the giant video screen at the back of the stage, the crowd realized there was some sort of issue. Instead of being angry over the delay, practically everyone in attendance remained calm and simply talked amongst themselves. There was no yelling for the show to start. I was a nice contrast to what I usually experience when a show starts late. It speaks volumes to the character of FLETCHER's fans.

When FLECHER did take the stage, her fans went off! Starting with "Maybe I am", you could barely hear her vocals over the screaming coming from the crowd. Once the first song finished, FLETCHER offered up an apology for the delay and promised to make the Detroit show unique on the tour as she would be improvising to make up for the lack of the video wall.

Even with the late start, we were treated to a full 80+ minutes set, which included favourites such as "Undrunk", "Serial Heartbreaker", "Crush", and of course "Antidote".

As previously mentioned, the entire band puts on a fun show, but the on stage chemistry between Cari (aka Fletcher) and Lexii (guitar) and Sophie (bass) really got the entire audience cheering. I wish I could have photographed the entire show as Lexii gave us multiple kicks and even a few jumps. I love seeing artists get so into their performance. She gave us a show on her own.

Throughout the night, Fletcher interacted with her fans. I always love when an artist has those brief moments they connect with their fans. It really gives those fans memories that will last them a life time.

On tour in support of her first full length album, Sugar Water, Swedish born American singer Maude Latour opened the night for FLETCHER's In Search of the Antidote Tour.

The "One More Weekend" singer was comfortable on stage putting her full energy into her 30 minute performance. Her 8 song set was heavily influenced from the latest release with 6 songs coming from Sugar Water. With the album receiving positive reviews from multiple outlets, this was proved a great opportunity to introduce her new music to a wider audience. Of course, no performance from Maude would be complete without fan favourites, 2022's "Lola" and 2020's "One More Weekend".

If you are going to see FLETCHER, I'd say get there early to see Maude's set because you never know, you could find yourself discovering a new favourite.
